News about Ender's Game: The Movie

News about Ender's Game: The Movie: "Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty, the writing team that created the X-Men 2 screenplay, have been hired by Warner Brothers to write the second draft of the Ender's Game screenplay"

The movie has been "in the works" since 1996, but it looks like Warner Brothers are finally starting to push the movie forward. In March, Orson Scott Card will be meeting with Warner Brothers Consumer Products Devision to talk about electronic games that will tie in with the movie. More signs that we might see the movie in the next year or 2.

NTT Develops Stamp-Size 1GB Hologram Memory. Read only, they store the pre-recorded hologram in layers of plastic.

They are planning on initially promoting it as a replacement for semiconductor ROMs and also for media distribution (including as a replacement for DVD's).

IBM was talking about holographic storage a while ago (Nov 1996), but they don't seem to have announced anything new.

Star Wars on DVD in September

In September, the original Star Wars trilogy is going to be made available as a 4 disc box set, including all three movies (Digitally Restored and Remastered) and the fourth disk will contain special features.
The movies will not be available individually.
There is no mention as to whether the movies are the "Special Edition" versions or the original cuts (or both).

There is no mention yet on any of the arnotts websites, or on their Arnotts Online Store. (The online store: "We have built the Store especially for homesick Aussies who are living abroad, or people who've visited Australia and developed a taste for our wonderful biscuits.")

They were still arrested and charged with "incitement to the use of a substance presented as a narcotic".
